I have lived here for over a year now and wil not be renewing my lease at the end of this month. The gates have never completely worked for more than a few days in a row and there is a large hole in the fence that connects this property to a lower rent property next door. Kids are ALWAYS walking into our complex through this hole at all hours and several cars/apts near this have been vandalized recently. The leasing offices only response to this is that they would fix it, but the kids will just tear it up again, so why bother' To me, that response sucks and is not enough. I only feel safe when my deadbolt is in place and would not walk by myself here at night. The apt fixtures are old and showing and my carpets have never once been cleaned, not even before my move in date. With all this said, the complex is mostly quiet and rent is decent. Just remember though, you get what you pay for.
