First, the management: Meriweather, the property manager, is anything less than merry. She runs people out of sailwinds constantly during my experience there for over 2 years. I saw her evict a countless number of my good neighbors and replace them with utter trash. It was a horrible experience; I even saw a maintence man come into my neighbors house unannounced and actually have a physical confrontation with him! the next week he was evicted, this place is a hell hole. Don't move here, the sister property Lake Carolton(sp') Arms is much better. Sailwinds turns and burns their residents. Second, the residents are trash, the minorities are the majority and they will loot anything you leave out on your porch... beware. Last, the condition of the apartments, like so many others on this site I had constant issues with my A/C unit, the worst incident occured when we had a rat infestation in apartment building #7 that spread from #6 and they finally set traps, after rats were running out from under our cabinets, then the dead rats were left in the attic until it became inhospitable due to the disgusting pugnant smell. Everyone in the building complained and it still took a week for them to come out and remove it, then they didn't get all of the corpses so they had to come out again a week later. the smell lasted for over a month..... Don't move here!!!

I haven't seen any rats, yet. But I would not be surprised if I encountered one. I definitely agree with the terrible AC system. I'm in the process of querying lawyers because my heating system is not working at all. They haven't fixed it, yet. I am freezing. From what I've read, Florida law requires landlords to provide a heating system for their residents.

I haven't seen any rats but roaches are my unwanted roommates. This place is totally and completely infested and the front office doesn't care. When we rented this place we were told that an exterminator comes weekly and if there were any problems, they would send the exterminator out ASAP. THAT IS A JOKE! The only exterminator here is me and my birkenstocks.
