Underqualified and rude office staff (once you're a resident)

I lived at this particular apartment complex for a couple years beginning in the end of 2006. I am so grateful that I am no longer living here. The place has really gone downhill since I moved in. The management staff are a complete joke. Most of them have no idea what they are doing, especially ------. She doesn t know basic accounting and it s completely obvious. I m still owed money from my security deposit because she doesn t know how to add and subtract. And forget about getting a return phone call from any of the office staff unless you re a prospective renter. The best way to get ahold of anyone in that office is to go there in person, and even then they give you the runaround. The only reason ------ even got the job of assistant manager is because she s ------------ with the manager. She is clearly not qualified.
They don t have a clue about good customer service. One month the bank made an error and didn t send out my rent check. Now I have never once paid a bill late in my life. Instead of calling me to ask what was going on, I received an eviction notice on my door to move out in 3 days because my rent was past due. Apparently paying your rent 1-2 weeks early for 2 years doesn t earn you the decency of a courtesy phone call. Luckily they waved my late fee.
When I moved in they advertised this fitness room. It is absolutely ridiculous. When I first moved in they had 3 treadmills and 2 ellipticals. Last time I checked they had 1 treadmill and 1 elliptical with a broken foot pedal. And that pedal was broken for at least 2 months. Don t advertising having a fitness room if the equipment is always out of order! The TV in the fitness room has been broken since I moved in. Forget about watching a good game while you re exercising. When you press the channel up button, sometimes it goes up and sometimes it goes down. It takes a good 5 minutes to actually find the channel you want. Someone actually brought in a universal remote at some point which was a great idea. Too bad it was gone the next day.
The walls are paper thin. Turns out you can hear a lot of what your upstairs neighbor is doing which includes taking a shower, using the bathroom, walking, singing, watching movies, and listening to music. Too bad the courtesy officer only returned my phone call and addressed the problem one time.
Midway was another huge problem with this place. Midway is the company they use for the valet trash service and water. For the first 8 months that I lived there I never received a bill from Midway. I called Midway several times to ask them about it and also notified the previous managers (who actually had somewhat of a clue what they were doing even though one embezzled money from the place and another clocked into work and went home to hang out in their apartment while being paid). They kept saying that Midway was going through a transition period and would get it to me. Don t blame me for not paying a bill when I never got it. When I finally got my bill 8 months after moving in, I get a notice stating past due and pay immediately. Midway doesn t understand basic accounting either. If you over pay your bill, they never give credit for the amount that you overpaid. Maybe they should choose a utility company that knows customer service and basic accounting. But then again,
management staff doesn t know that basic part of a business either.
One positive thing I will say is they finally got the gates working. It only took 2 years and a lot of money. Now it feels a little safer, unless you consider the shady residents that live there.
It is obvious that these other positive responses are from the management staff. When the reviews are so opposite from each other, it gives it away. Do yourself a favor and don t live here. It s not worth it.

I couldn't agree more! I lived there for 2 years and everything looks great the day you sign your lease, and then it went downhill fast!! The office staff are very unprofessional and everything you stated about the assistant manager is true. The management there is horrible, the pool was discusting, the gym is ridiculous to even call it a gym. The gates were always broken, and the people they allow to move in are definately shady and drug deals going down. I can believe they wanted to evict you after that incident, even though you were always on time and paid early because that's how they are. Morons. I have never been so unhappy living somewhere as I was there. The walls are definately paper thin and I heard not only the TV, music, conversations but everytime a cabinet slammed or they had sex. I could not warn people enough about how decieving The Sanctuary is and how unsafe, crappy and miserable it is to reside there. Don't throw your money away on this place. If you ever have a problem all they do is blow smoke up your ass and hope you go away. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!!

I use to work at The Sanctuary and I recently started reading all of these posts. I am so disgusted by what I have read. I worked there for a looong time and I have never witnessed anyone with such hatred for The Sanctuary. I don't know who any of these people are.. they definitely never came into the office to express their concerns. From what I hear and see, The Sanctuary is now booming with many new residents and the place looks great!! Keep up the good work Sanctuary!!
