First of all, to everyone complaining about the noise - yes, noise is a factor and yes it is annoying, but the apartment staff can't likely force people being loud in the parking lot or even their tennants to be quiet. They can make suggestions, but that's it. It shouldn't really be the sole reason you hate a place.
Now, about the noise. I may hear somebody in the parking lot sometimes fairly late, or neighbors walking VERY loudly down the stairs at night, but all in all it's quiet to me. And I hate noise. The building design really amplifies any sound and the walls are pretty thin as it is. Typically, with my bed being against the wall of the stairwell, it shakes quite a bit when somebody is coming up or down the stairs. But I haven't had any real problems with the neighbors. They've all been pretty nice, actually.
Tuscany Bay is a tad pricey. Considering the quality of some of the people living here, I'm curious about that. There are a lot of shady-looking (and acting) people that I see on a regular basis. A car was stolen right outside my apartment building, then a second time a few months later with a different car.
The gate. We paid for a gated community and it's actually worked about two of the five months I've been here. This isn't entirely the fault of the staff - some idiot kept plowing through the gate and wrecking it. But rather than doing the cost-effective thing and installing a security camera, they just kept cheaply fixing it, not even hiding the fact that it was horribly bent.
I do like the apartment. It's gorgeous inside. I'm proud t have people over because it is a very nice-looking place, inside and out.
My only complaint about maintenace or those issues is the water pressure. It's been low in every water source in the apartment at least once - if not up to three times. In five months, my shower's pressure has been very low THREE times. This is unacceptable since they keep fixing it.
To their credit, maintenace comes quickly and does fix the problem. Maybe it's bad plumbing, I don't know. Either way, everything else has worked well here.
I will say that the staff is very sweet and always willing to help. I've never had a single moment where I haven't enjoyed talking to somebody or having to call or go in for whatever reason.
All in all, a nice place but not worth the price for as many problems as there are. I had far fewer problems at the last place I was at, which was 2/3 the price.
