I have lived here for 2 months and it has certainly been an adventure. When I first signed my lease they painted this pretty picture for me.
The first issue was that a week after I moved in I got a dog. On their site it stated that dogs under 40 lbs were a $300 non refundable fee and an extra $10 a month. I followed what I was supposed to do and let them know I got him. They then told me it'd be an extra $20 a month not $10. I asked about it and they said they changed it in January. I signed my lease in December so it shouldn't effect me, but this was just one of their schemes to knickel and dime me. I sent an e-mail to their office and they wrote back and said thanks for the notice that they would change their site.
Then it comes time to pay my rent the first time. The leasing agent talked up their site about how its so wonderful and easy to use and that you can pay your rent online. I thought that was great and convenient so I decided to do this. That was the biggest mistake I could have made. I had so many problems with that. I signed up to pay my rent online, entered all the info asked for and set it to pay early. I checked my account online and saw that I have been given credit for the payment. Then the credit was taken away and I called to check to see what was up and was told the info entered was wrong. I was then told to check the account info I entered which I had already done so, so I reentered all the info again. I called back to find out if it went through only to be told it was still showing that it could not pull. So I called the bank and made sure it was the correct info reentered once again and tried to do a pay now because the date I set had expired. I then checked the next day online and it showed that they had pulled two payments. After speaking to the person who posts the account to let me know that all was well no one ever called back and I noticed that my payments that had posted were reversed and now considered late. When I called to check I was told that the info I entered was wrong and I could not get my late fees etc back unless I got the bank to say it was their fault. I used up my day off trying to take care of everything and had to get a money order to pay my rent, including the late fee that was not even my fault. I kept insisting to the manager it was their website and she refused to accept that and continusously laid blame on me. She wouldn't even accept the proof I gave her to show what she said she had needed to take off the late fee. I was upset and sent an e-mail to their home office and received and e-mail the next day from the home officie appologizing and telling me they had credited me the late fee and taken the black mark off my account. So then I tried to delete all my info from the website and it would not allow me to so I unchecked and changed dates just to be sure that it would not pull again. The first mo after the mess it did not pull but then this month it pulled from my account with the exact same account info that I had in the beginning where they said it was wrong and caused all the issues. I had to write to the home office again to get my money credited back that was pulled from the online account and after pointing out to them that their was a glitch in their online account I was finally able to delete my account info. During this whole situation the manager once again tried to blame all of this on me saying that I needed to do this or that and I told her that I had. I received a phone call from her telling me that I needed to provide proof to her that the money had been taken from my account. Once again, because of THEIR mistake I had to go out of MY way.
Also, I got a second dog and was under the impression that their $300 fee and extra $20 a month was for your first dog only. On their site it says DOGS under 40 lbs $300 and $20 extra a month. Then says limit 2 per apartment. Well, I was wrong. I had to pay ANOTHER $300 and am now paying $40 extra a month. You'd think with all the damn money they are making off of me they'd be able to afford a better internet system, and a smarter manager.
Also when I got my first water bill, I had a charge for $20.00 for having to bill me forelectricity and $3.oo and some change for usage of electricity. All because I hadn't gotten the electricity changed to my name for ONE DAY!
Also, it is true they let ANYONE live here. I had white trash living next to me but thank god they got evicted. My building is pretty empty so I don't have much trouble with hearing neighbors and I am on the third floor.
