I have lived in West Park Village for 5 years now. I think I can settle many issues being talked about here as I have dealt with most of these topics over the years.
*First and foremost, the managemant has ALWAYS been and continues to be a complete set of incompetant, rude, unresponsive and indifferent collection of staff members. I believe this is a direct result of poor to little or no training procedures from upper management. They also realize most people are only staying for 1 or 2 years or less and that the transient way of life here in Florida dictates that they do not need to rely on repeat business. Having said all that, I would also suggest that anyone who moves into ANY apartment complex should be aware of the inherited issues that come with the "apartment lifestyle" and not rely on others to do every little thing for you on the drop of a dime's notice. I have bought and replaced air filters, patched leaks in the garage, caukled cracks along the stairs etc. This is where I live and I do whatever it takes to make it better....I do not wait for others to do it all. I know that some people can't do these simple things but they should be flexible then if they are on a maintenance list.
As far as parking, I have a garage that comes with my unit so I always have a spot...if you need to have the same then move to a unit that comes with one. I've never heard of any apt. complex that doesn't seem to have parking issues.
As far as security, I would place WPV at the top of the safe list..never had a problem and know of only very few minor incidents.
As far as pool/clubhouse, I think again due to the incompetant staff that these are issues that will be ongoing. They simply do not have the skill sets to realize that most people would like to use the clubhouse after 5:00pm and that people like to have a lounge chair to sit on while at the pool...I know that they had a security guard walk the property at night during the summer and I personally would have had extended hours atleast during that time as he would have been able to monitor the area for a few extra hours while people enjoyed the facilities. Lastly, I would only say that any positive posts here about the management are most likely from a staff member or one of their family members. I have never spoke to anyone in 5 years that were very satisfied with the staff.

Surprisingly, my overall rating is still very high because you cannot beat the unique Main Street setting, the surrounding "A" rated school system, the parks, playgrounds, close proximity to the airport, mall, restaurants etc.

Do not move here if you are a needy tennant...you will be very dissapointed. If you are self-reliant then this is the best place in Tampa to live.
