Overrated and Bogus Charges

While I loved the shops in the community and my neighbors, I hated that I paid nearly $1200 /mo in rent and had to navigate a flight of stairs to get to my living area and another flight of stairs to get to one of my two bathrooms. Worst of all was that I had no porch or balcony.
Noise was sometimes a problem because of the proximity of the buildings to one another and neighbors recreating in the alleys between.
The parking didn't bother me because I had one car and a one car garage. If I had more than one car, the fact that people visiting the local shops parked on the streets in the community would have driven me crazy. I found the number of cars parked on the streets dangerous for pedestrians and drivers in the neighborhood. What really made me lose respect for the management staff was the >$600 bill that I recieved after move out. This, in spite of the >$300 in deposits and the $50/mo pet rent. The previous tennant had installed a satellite dish which I never used yet had to pay for its removal in spite of my ability to show that I was a Brighthouse subscriber the entire time I lived there. Since I bought a house, there won't be a next time for me. I'd still like to help others make sure this does not happen to them. Do not allow the management to leave anything (damage or unapproved equipment) from previous tennants if you find yourself in that situation. I was also charged for replacement of the carpet even though it was not new when I moved in and I had a record of complaining that the carpet was worn from my move in inspection.
If I had been a bad tennant, late with rent, causing my neighbors to complain, I could understand. So if this is how they treat good tennants, make sure you document everything - send letters, take pictures - or better yet, find somewhere else to live.

I have found that everything you are saying about the community is wrong! I have been a resident of West Park Village for over a year now and cant find one thing to complain about. I have 2 pets and have NEVER paid pet rent......so where you came up with that....who knows!!!!!!!!!!! West Park Village is one of the only places that in fact, DOES NOT CHARGE PET RENT!!!!! Do your research! All floorplans you can see have no patios and show the bathrooms upsatirs, so why did you choose the floorplan you did, if you dont like stairs?
I would recommend West Park Village to anyone!

Gosh, whoever posted the repsonse either didn't read this persons review, or is the managment trying to overcome a somewhat negative review.
The person who posted this review was constructive and offered very helpful tips. The fact they mentioned that the bathrooms are on the third floor is helpful because most people probably wouldn't think it would be a challenge, but would soon find out they were wrong.
Calm down and let this person have their opinion please. You are certainly welcome to post your own....
