Please READ THIS Before you move in

I would like to make it clear that these are facts and not opinions, this is our experience.
We looked around for apartments and read many reviews.

Wildwood Acres had the lowest at the time, June 2004.

We ignored them and thought people just loved to complain, so we took a chance and moved in.

If you get a nice unit with no problems, you will be fine, however, if you get a bad one, you are out of luck.

The property is owned, managed and maintained by a family, so complaining to one or the other will get you absolutely nowhere.

They are all brothers, sisters and nephews, and they are horrible at their job.

Don't expect to be living all comfortably in super old apartments built in the 1950s.

What attracted us was the back yard and also the low rent price.

Little did we know that they had lowered the price due to everybody leaving that place and they having many units empty.
Our first few months went fine.

But then it rained, and our house got flooded.

Water just poured in through the back and got everywhere around the kitchen area.

They send the landscaper out who did minor yard work.

Since 2004, the place has flooded about 6 more times.

And the landscaping guy just does the same thing.

Half hour work, moves sand here and there, and then it floods again.

When I went to the office and complained, all they could offer to do was break my lease.

Nothing else.

It's really like talking to robots when you go in the front office, they just have some pre-memorized lines that they throw at you.

They never sent anybody to look for mold or inspect the place.
Then came the second problem.

We barely stayed at the house since we were either working or in college.

A few months after we moved in, the toilet started to back up and so did the tub.

We could small sewer water coming out of the tub.

It was extremely nasty and also very unsanitary.

To date, they have sent the useless maintenance crew out about 10 times to address the problem.

It has not been fixed.

It backs up whenever it feels like it and dirt comes up the bath tub.

They did finally give us a new bath tub and toilet, but guess what, the problem continued, because they have no clue what they are doing.

Everytime they come over I ask if they permanently fixed the problem, their answer is "I don't know".

They come over for about 5 minutes, snake it out or use a plunger, do something in the backyard, and then wait for my call again.

This is how useless the maintenance department is.
After 5 years they finally gave us another unit, why' Because everybody is moving out and they are struggling to keep people here.

They have for rent signs in almost every road.

Here are some more facts for you:
1.

After a while we started meeting neighbors and such, they all shared the exact same experience.

Rude people, OLD falling apart houses with tons of problems, flooding, plumbing problems, etc.
2.

When you get a new apartment, it's not new.

It has just been painted over and cleaned.

Our bath tub had about 5 layers of paint and so did our walls.
3.

From all the people I have met here, 9 out of 10 have some sort of continuous problem, either flooding, a bad ac unit, toilet backing up, or something else.
4.

Due to the age of the apartments, you will most likely have leaks somewhere.

Our main bedroom always remained hot because of the old windows and seals, and we abused the AC unit because of this problem.

Other people we met complained about the same thing.
We could have moved out but we would have to come up with 1st and last months rent, security deposit and deposit for our pets.

My recommendation to you is to read reviews, go to the place and ask, take advantage of free consumer information before you get yourself into a mess.

Its horrible when you move in somewhere and then you are just stuck there.

I have responded once in the past and as you know when you do that you get an email everytime someone adds something about the property. I got the email read your crap and responded. I DON'T work there but I do find it quite strange that IF any NORMAL person had that many problems and really felt they were not trying to fix it they would move. As the other person said this is America you are not stuck.. I have NEVER had a problem with the staff. You just sound like someone that needs to get a life.

You put up with this for 5 years? Sounds like you just want to blame other people for everything that goes wrong. I love living here. Know what I did when my kitchen flooded? Got out my shovel and did something about it. Hmm, no more flooding. Hold yourself accountable for some things, and you may realize that it doesn't suck as much as you think it does.

Do you guys seriously have nothing better to do? This experience is over, there is nothing more to say about it, it's in the past, so just accept it and let it go. It seems as if some of you don't even bother to read the review. Listen, if you like living here and had a great experience, congrats! But I have every right to write my experience and share it with whoever I please as long as I am not rude about it. Consumer reports are everywhere. Opinion you say? I don't think so. I have pictures, videos, and a bunch of stuff with water damage that I lost and trying to get fixed. And to you kalenamonster, wow, talk about "opinion" without even knowing facts. After the first flood the landscaping guy came out, yes, WITH A SHOVEL, he worked on it for a while and it flooded again. He came out again and installed ducts to re-route the water to the front of the house. IT FLOODED again. He then installed more ducts, took out the old ones, moved a lot of dirt, and it flooded again. What else do you want me to do? This is not my property. Every single time I approached them nicely about it and I have always been polite and super patient. I took it for 5 years because I work almost 80 hours a week and I don't have time to be dealing with stuff like this. Throughout some of those years I was also a full time student. Most of the flooding would occur when I was not home so when I got there allocated 1 hour of my resting time to clean it and get it over with. Besides, it occurred in between several months so I would always think they next time they came out the problem got fixed. So next time get your facts right before you come on here and make a fool of yourself. The fact that you love the place and had a great experience does not and WILL NOT change my experience, so just let it go, what happened, happened, they are facts not opinions. And finally for those saying "nobody is stuck because this is america" Really? Apparently you all forgot about security deposits, pet deposits, rental trucks, move-in fees and pro-rated rent. Does that make sense to you now!!!??? Just let it go guys.
