I moved into Willowbrooke about half a year ago, and was slightly skeptical at first due to some of the reviews written about it. I am so glad that I didn't listen to them, because the experience of living here has been just wonderful from the start. The apartments are a bit older, but a very well kept. The grounds is the most beautiful I have seen anywhere in the area with a nice canopy of oaks and excellent landscaping with various tropical plants, palms, etc. Maintenance is great and has fixed any problem within a 1-2 days. Water heater and AC took a few tries to fix, but they were consistently working on it trying to solve the problem. The staff here are also wonderful. They host all sorts of little events for the residents such as ice cream socials, arts and craft sales out by the pool, and they even provided a thanksgiving dinner for us. There is a professor from USF who has lived here since the 70's because he loves it so much. If some of the people writing these reviews are so immature that they cannot handle ordinary mishaps that can happen anywhere at anytime, they need to take a second look before writing a review that reflects and entire complex. I am very happy here, feel very safe, and couldn't think of any other place I'd rather be living.

sounds fishy to me since you said you lived there a year and at the top you put the years from 07 to 07?? I don't know about now, but when I lived there the social unctions were minimal and stupid. Who really want to go see Santa drive around in a pick up truck? The only good thing about this place was it was close to US which has now become a joke as well.

I'm going to start off with your comment on the landscaping..where have you lived prior to WillowBrooke a trailer park? The grounds are kept fairly with the exception of the area located around the office, which gets refreshed with lovely new plants every month or two. The landscaping company hired does a half-a$$ed job, a child with a bubble mower could do just as well. Money was spent on the entire grounds a while back adding mulch to all the various little "gardens" however instead of spending the few extra bucks for edging to keep the mulch in the landscapers use a gas edger to cut a line in the dirt, so as we go thru wonderful FL rainy season, there goes all the mulch. The canopy of wonderful trees hang into walkways obstructing the paths and blocking "security lights". The reason it takes a few tries to get things fixed around here is because they try and rig it the best, fastest, and cheapest way they can instead of repairing or replacing properly. As far as the "Professor" from USF, he infact is NOT at all a professor and ironically spends MOST of his time AWAY from home. Interesting that you have all of this "information" and have only lived here half a year. As far as safety, where to begin? Open gates, no security, stolen cars, bikes, broken windows, busted door frames, vandalism to cars, drug traffic, speeding drivers, etc. If you can't think of any other place you would rather be living, you have a very low sense of self dignity and self worth. I guarantee even people whom have had NO problems during their residency here can think of someplace they would much rather be living. Who knows, maybe this is is a luxury condo community to those who consider a double wide a great piece of real estate.
