My biggest issues with this complex are the gate and maintenance. Next month will be two years since I have been living at this complex and the gate has not been working for the past year. Every time I speak with someone in the office about it, they have some stupid excuse of why it is not working. For example, I was told that it was working but not ON because people were moving in and out of the complex. I told them that people move everyday and they are the only complex I know of that is so 'Considerate' to shut the gate off to allow people to move in and out (Yeah right). In was not until recently that they got the gate fixed and it has been closed. In addition, one day and tried using my card to get in but it would not work. So, I went to the visitor's side to call my husband (who was home) so that he could let me in and I could not because our name was not in the system. I waited outside the complex for over five minutes for someone to pull up and open the gate. While I was waiting, I called maintenance to inform them of the situation and once I got in, I called again because no one returned the first call. What do you know, hours had passed and no one still had not returned my calls. The next day, I called the office to find out why no one called me back and the apartment manager did not have an answer. She told me that she would talk to maintenance to find out and get back with me but I know that she was not being honest with herself or me. In addition to that, about a year and a half ago, I needed maintenance to let me in my apartment because I was locked out. I called and left several messages informing them of my situation and no one ever returned my call. I should have learned a lesson from that but I wanted to give them a chance since I was fairly new to the complex. Moreover, I have been leaving in this complex because it has been convenient but that was the last straw and I will be moving out this year. Overall, I will not recommend Valrico Station Road Apartments to anyone.

Sometimes cars hit the gate and during the hurricane they left the gate open. I never had a problem with the gate key either. Sometimes things don't go your way, but this is a nice apt complex, you just seem too angry to appreciate it.

So it's the apartment complex's fault that you locked yourself out of your place and they didn't come to let you in? Ok, I think I'd take some personal responsibility for that one. The gate will not protect you. It is there to provide a "sense" of security and "gated community" effect. Think about it: you don't have ten foot walls surrounding the entire complex do you? If some criminal really really wants to get in, they will. If that has been your biggest problem with that place (the gate), then consider yourself lucky. Wherever you go I fear you won't be happy.
