When we moved here we had looked at every apartment complex in Venice & Sarasota. This is by far the best. Maintenance is quick and efficient. Office staff are cautiously friendly and helpful.(Hey Jamie, smile a little more!!) The unit is adequate for our needs. Where we needed extra space, we created it with imaginative pieces of furniture. In addressing some of the negative comments on this site, if handicapped, the staff will comply with Florida Statutes and create a handicapped space you only need to ask. Most people will explore their options rther than complaining. The bathroom is small but again with inexpensive over-the-bowl cupboards, towels are nicely placed and out of sight. Of course, the neighbors can be heard if you live downstairs but in our over 7 years here we have not had a great deal of problems. Those that complain either have had no experience with apartment living or the ones making the noise need to be reminded that they aren't the only ones here. Most will comply with a polite request. I find that making friends with neighbors helps if you need to speak to them about the noise. Yes the increase in rent each year for new people is daunting but its never that much and they will adjust it to the current market each year, sometimes up and sometimes down. No different than living in a home where the insurance is at the whim of the market. Apartment living isn't ideal for some folks but if you are considerate of others it's fine. Yes kids get a bit loud and dogs bark on occasion but that's what kids and dogs do. Management tries to create a cohesive environment by hosting breakfasts and pizza parties. There is, however, a guest suite that is not adequate as it is in an upstairs unit and given the age of our population is impossible for some to go upstairs. As a revenue generating aspect it should be offered downstairs for our parents and elderly guests. The pool and fitness room are incomparable, clean and sparkling and the common area can be rented out for no cost (if you clean up). We held a party there and it was lovely. Landscaping is beautiful, Jamie keeps it well. Safety is not problem, We walk at night and only encounter the occasional racoon or opossom. Lighting is not the best around the lakes. I have recommended this complex to many friends who currently live here. I do hope this will encourage others to write good things and newcomers to come try out the best overall complex in the Venice, Sarasota area.
