For the price, our apartment definitely was not worth it. The Pines does not work very hard at retaining residents once they get them as evidenced by the high turnover of residents, all of the empty apartments and their preference of unsuccessfully using band-aids to fix things that should have been replaced years ago.



Our kitchen was extremely dingy with very old appliances that worked poorly. Our refrigerator leaked the whole time we were there, and attempts to get it fix were ignored. Our air conditioning unit like all of the others should have been replaced long ago and required several maintenance calls. The carpet was also in bad shape.




The staff was largely unhelpful, but that may be due to the very high turnover of employees. There were three apartment managers in a 15-month span and three maintenance chiefs. We also had a constant turnover of neighbors.




The noise was sometimes intolerable, music and family arguments at all hours. And when you leave your undamaged apartment, you may suffer the indignity as we did of not getting your security deposit back for the vague reason of "cleaning" with no notification in accordance with state law and no documentation of why it was held.




I cannot recommend these apartments. There are better ones in Vero Beach at a cheaper price. Don't waste your money!
