security deposits

The state of Florida requires landlords to follow certain notice requirements when withholding security deposits. If your deposit is withheld and you do not receive notice within 30 days after moving out and the reason for why it is being withheld, then you can sue the landlord in small claims court. We sued the Pines of Vero and won. Tenants do have recourse.
