I am responding to the previous post, these statements are not correct. A tree in a building is a VERY serious problem in as much that all the electrical and AC units are on the roof. Although some apartments in the building appear not to have damage, mainly the first floor units, the entire roof is structurally unsafe. Therefore, it is unsafe for people to reside in the building. As the landlord, The Pines of Vero has a responsiblity for the safety and welfare of all occupants residing in all apartments of the buildings affected. It's not that they don't care, as stated, but DO CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY AND WELFARE OF ALL.

The Pines of Vero is not in the business to remove people for the property. Our goal is to provide housing. Do you think for a second that The Pines wanted to see our residents displaced and having to relocate in an area that is already stretched thin in the housind department due to hurricane Frances' We only had 9 available apartments and could not possible foresee that the yet a 2nd storm would displace our own residents three weeks later. It was with deep regret that it happened, but in no way could Management have prevented it.

Rent is not "jacked" up. Rent increases are minimal $10.00 per year and in some cases $5.00. Increases are based on water and sewer increases, WHICH IS INCLUDED IN YOUR RENT, and unfortunatley insurance rates are up over 120% from previous years. These costs have increased dramatically and yet the increases given were kept to a minimum. For the past two years only 1.5% rental increases were passed on to our residents. The annual cost of living increase is double that figure.

If you live or visit the Pines of Vero you would know that there are only two courtyards in the entire complex. Most buildings face the parking lots with a patio on the exterior of the property. The patio views are semi-private. Where would you propose we put a playground' Remove the pool, which is in one courtyard area or place it in the 2nd one which is our dog walk area' I admit that the property was not built to accomodate a playground but for the most part. people rent apartments for the living space, value, to be close to work and for the perks-fitness center, and pool, which I might add this community is the ONLY ONE WITH A HEATED POOL OPENED YEAR ROUND!

If you know of better communities that have apartments as large and spacious, sturdy, screended patios and washer and dryer connections for $715.00 you should post the name of it. It would be more beneficial for people that use this board for recommendations,and to learn the area,not for bashing. People read these reviews to assist in relocation. Talk about YOUR living experience here, not ex-employees or your neighbors.

I enocourage anyone that needs an apartment to visit that community before believing a ratings and reviews forum. Someone who has a problem with paying rent on time, or who has been caught with an unauthorized pet, etc.....can post such things as an "I'll get you". You should ALWAYS visit the community and see it first hand. In the event that you might not be able to, ask questions in a phone conversation or check with the Better Business Bureau. I have found them most helpful in the past if you really want to know a rating of a Company.

As to the poster of this review, my name is Lisa Mocere and I am VERY PROUD to be the Property Manager of this community that a lot of people call "home". I have residents living at this community for 15 or more years that absolutely love it as much as I do. To each person living here, I hope that The Pines has met all your needs and requirements. As to the poster of the previous post, I'm sorry we did not. If you truly feel that you are "living in hell" or "trapped" please contact me. I can explain the early termination policy that we offer, you might not have been aware of that.
