If I had only known what I was getting myself and my family into. This place is absolutely horrible. Trash is thrown anywhere and everywhere, sometimes even in the other resident's yards. The trash bins go for several days before being emptied, leaving huge piles of unopened garbage strewn all over the grounds, smelling and rotting out in the open. As of this writing, the dumpsters have not been emptied for over a week. One would think the Health Department would have a field day assessing fines on this place for maintaining an unsafe environment for the tenants. The management is a joke. Do not depend on them to assist you with any problems or needs. Plus, they charged me a $1200 deposit to move into here! Since I've been here (less than two months) one manager has quit and another has been fired for "unethical" conduct. Drug use and sales are very prevalant on the grounds. Crime is rampant. Just last week, four vehicles were broken into, including my own...even as it sat right out in front of my apartment...and the stereo was stolen from it. As much as I see the Police here, you would think this place is Police Headquarters. If you're not handy with tools and don't know something about repairs and handiwork, you are pretty much ---- out of luck because the maintenance workers are all but useless. I see them cruising around on their golf carts swigging down beers, and talking about how "bad" they are. I have come home from work and have had to pick up beer bottles, beer cans, used condoms, uneaten food, dirty diapers, bags of paper and trash, etc. which had somehow made their way to my yard and entrance. I am ashamed to have guests over because one look at this place would remind them of a scene out of the movie "Escape From New York." I will be searching for a "real" place to live because I have to get out of here before I end up in trouble for showing those maintenance guys just how "bad" they really are! My recommendations for Woods of Vero: Avoid this place like the plague. You would fair much better by camping out in a tent.
