Don't live here

Date posted: 3/20/2008
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008

I moved into the complex two years ago and was happy with the great move in deal we received upon moving in (this went up an extra 150 the next year we renewed our lease) After renewing the lease my roommate decided to bail on me, yet stayed on the lease. I informed the office of her departure and let them know she moved to another state and I no longer had communications with her.

The next month when I paid rent I received an additional notice saying to submit a money order in the amount of one dollar. Not thinking anything of it, I submitted it, however, the next month when I received another notice asking for two dollars I had to see what was going on. Apparently there was some (new) error in their system that they said would continue to charge me extra money each month until my roommate came in and resigned the lease (in order for them to fix the problem) They were aware that she was living in another state and continued to randomly increase my rent monthly, 5 bucks here, 3 bucks there. Hey...isn't that illegal'

AC went out, took 3 days and about 6 or 7 phone calls for a rude maintenace worker to come and tell me everything was fine. My ac had froze and after having it off for a day or two of course it was fine and no longer frozen. A few days later when it froze again we went through the same process. When I moved out...I had no air.

These apartments are way old and way over priced. The ceiling had a bubble that would hold water from the rain, maintance let this one slide and never came back to fix it- said it wasn't a problem because it hadn't burst yet.

The floor in the bathroom by the bathtub looked like it was ready to cave in.

Drug dealer lived across from me. Neighbor next door would take so many pills and pass out on her porch. The one bedroom near by had about 5 people living it.

They would change the gym code and not tell anyone. Most of the gym equipment was broken anyways.

Underneath the counters everything was starting to rot. (noticed this upon moving in, and wrote it on the damages list...nothing ever done in regards to it)

A friend got sick in her apartment at Berkshire's from black mold...maintenance helped out by painting over it.

Don't live here, no point.

At night time the lighting was terrible, I refused to check the mail after dark or take out trash. The place felt like a ghetto.
