i lived at island shores for almost a year, moved out because i was moving out of state. my experience with the prior management company was wonderful. however, the company that took over towards the end of 2003 has much to be desired. they do not return phone calls. office employees are uninformed or misinformed, and generally do not stay with the company long at all. the person i spoke to just prior to moving out told me that i didn't need to fill the holes in the walls, (concrete walls so you have to drill in screws to hang anything), that my redec fee would cover it, and thus i was billed for the repair.
the current property manager (the second since november)is unfriendly and downright difficult to deal with. she also does not return phone calls. it is unfortunate because BEFORE the new management company took over, i would have given island shores a great review. i loved the grounds and pool, my one bedroom, the pricing compared to what else was available and the location. things were well maintained and i felt like the people in the office knew who i was and cared about my happiness there. my brief experience with the new company has been reinforced by the experience of my friend that i did actually recommend the property to who has since moved in. they promised her that the carpet in her apartment would be replaced before she moved in. imagine her suprise when the old carpet was still there when she arrived with a truck full of her belongings. the apartment had not even been cleaned. they told my friend that if she was still unhappy with the carpet in THREE DAYS they would come back and replace it. what was she supposed to do with her furniture' my last issue with them, of course, has been trying to get my security deposit back. i moved out in the middle of november. it's the end of january. any business that simply can't return a phone call is going to go down relatively quickly.
my grading on the other items (parking, etc,) is mixed because, like i said, with the old management company, things were taken care of. not so anymore.
