I have lived here for almost 4 years. It is right downtown on S. Flagler Drive and the Okeechobee bridge. The Florida Atlantic University is nextdoor and the girl's dorms are always noisy if you face north. The student body holds meetings and loud games in the parking lot 2-3 nights per week when school is in session (10 months of the year from what I can gather). The landlord has been here for years and lives on property with his family (wife, 2 grown sons, dog, bird, '). The landlord was so kind and thoughtful when I moved in and now he is not so kind. His attitude has gone down hill. After the hurricanes in 2004 the pool top / laundry chairs and lounge chairs were not replaced or the chairs that are up there are in desparate repair. I bought my own chair. The pool is small but nice to float around in on a hot day. It's unheated and rarely clean or working so you can enjoy it. Last summer it was closed the entire season. Hard to say why'' This year 2006: it was emptied and closed for the long July 4th weekend and is still closed for repairs. I'm not holding my breath for it to be ready. My rent has gone up three years running. I started at 840/month and now pay just under 1000/month for a small one BR, one Bath. My request was denied new carpeting and paint after 2 years. The one bedrooms are very small but perfect for just one person. Very small closets in the bedroom and hall way where the front door is. My veranda is large (about 1/2 the size of the entire apt!). Downtown events are always crowded with people, so I walk to everything. SunFest fireworks are right off the bridge and so it's great viewing (if you face north). If you work downtown and don't mind zero maintenance (I've been waiting for 3.5 years for my screen door to be fixed/replaced..it's not happenng...I fight with it daily), it's an OK place for the price/rental/location. Don't expect anything to be fixed and also I recently saw the owner from NY with business people on property with a camera. Maybe he's selling' I'd look elsewhere, I am. Good Luck!
