My wife and I moved in around March, and still agree that this place is much better than were we were. Granted it is quite a bit more expensive as well.
The grounds are well kept, Parking lot is lighted "almost a little too much, had to hang a sheet over the window to sleep, but then again, I like a pitch black bedroom" Staff have been polite and helpfull whenever we needed to contact them.
As for hurricanes, I haven't experienced one here yet, however if you are on the 1st floor they provide shutters "self install" Second and Third floors have hurricane glass.
Floors and walls are concrete form, so you don't really hear anything, however you will hear loud noises.
Water pressure can vary from time to time, however that isn't the complex's fault, it's the city.
We are close to Publix, Home Depot, a few resturants, and the turnpike.
I live on the end of one of the buildings, so I only share the stairs with my neighbor, so I have not experienced the issues with garbage being left in the hall yet.
So far, I only have a few gripes.
1. They have one communial dumpster, which is a compator type to increase capacity. Only issue, is that when it breaks, trash piles up outside pretty quickly. It can look kinda dumpy after a few days.
2. In order to increase parking capacity, they reduce the size of the spaces. While a standard passeger car fits in without a problem, I drive a full size truck and have found myself packed in a bit too tight more than once, have had park either next to the handycap spot, or on a spacer just to have room to get in. "I couldn't care less about dents to my truck, I don't want to dent anyone else's cars"
3. It's a little close to Jog, so it can get loud on the weekends when the "fart can" cars try to race up and down, however I have seen a greater police presence the past month or two, so it has cut down on that.
The last one isn't really a gripe, more of an annoyance. The doors are double bolted, "a keyed deadbolt on the bottom, and a non-keyed deadbolt on the top, it provides greater security, but can be annoying if my wife hits the top one while im at work, I have to call her to get into the apt.
