None of us who live here thought anything could be worse than AIMCO management. WRONG!!! RK Properties out of California (RKProp.com) bought it & are turning it into Section 8 housing! They are pimping it up with 3 of the worst paint colors one can imagine. Think morning after a bad drunk diarrhea & vomit colors. Attempts by tenants to stop this train wreck were ignored by the new owners. Now, here's the scoop. The dark brown color retains heat in the building which forces one to continually run the A/C. Interior remodel of the office is a decorating nightmare, think big, dark & clunky. Plans call for replacing kitchens in the apartments with sand colored walls, dark wood cabinets and BLACK (not stainless) appliances. Oh, let's not forget the "granite" counter tops! All this & they get to raise the rent too! Currently you can get a $500 referral fee, but by the time they are done, they won't be able to give the apartments away. There are too many good deals & great places available now. Do yourself a favor and stay away from "Diarrhea at the Villages!" Many of us are planning to break our leases to get out of here!

I agree with you. My FPL bill has flew through the roof since the new color. I haven't been able to turn my air off once in 2 months. Seriously. It's 80 degrees in my apt, no matter what! This place is a nightmare. Also, there has been 2 or 3 vehicle break-ins in the last 2 months. Maybe it's becasue the "gate" hasn't worked for 2 months.

Normally I wouldn??t respond to online reviews, but I feel this one needs to be corrected. Please feel free to call the Windward office at 561-684-1223 with any questions or concerns you may still have after this posting. First of all, there are many apartment communities that participate in the section 8 program. Unfortunately, Windward at the Villages is not set up to accept the Section 8 Vouchers, nor are there any plans to change our rent policies in the future. While we appreciate the candid reviews, the colors of the buildings are a huge improvement over the concrete color they were before. All of the renovations being completed are designed to improve the overall appearance of the property and we invite you to personally come out and tour our community. Naturally color preferences are all a matter of personal opinion, but the property is Beautiful and it's only getting better. Regarding the alleged Vehicle break ins over the past few months, this is simply not true. While no one can guarantee safety, these reports of car break ins are false. Area crime reports can be obtained from the City of West Palm Beach Website. Again, please feel free to call 561-684-1223 if you have any questions about Windward at the Villages. We love coming home here and would enjoy telling you about our community.

My Fiancee and I live at Windward at the Villages and even with the color changes of the outside structure the apartment stays cool. It is true that the Gates to the complex are not working right now but that really never prevented anyone from getting into the parking lots. Also, the Electric Bill doesn't seem to have gone up for us even with the color changes. Yes, they are not very appealing colors but, it is not up to us to decide what colors to paint the exterior walls. The pool fixed up and looks fantastic. The office building...should that really even matter to you what it looks like it's not like you have to live there....and i actually like the decor inside. Also, there is a shortage on parking sometimes. I get home so late sometimes i always end of having to park so far away from my apartment. But i guess that is really my only problem. Other than that it is a nice place to live compared to other places i have lived in the past and the Black appliances are very nice...and believe me your rent would go up alot if they purchased stainless steel for everyone.

HEATHER....YOU'RE SOO DUMB! I LIKE THOSE RESPONSE THEY ARE SOOO FUNNY! MAN, THIS COMPLEX SHOULD BE RIVERIA BEACH. I FEEL SO BAD FOR THESE PEOPLE THAT THEY DON'T GET ANYTHING FIXED OVER THERE AND THEY HAVE TO PAY OVER. I SEEN 2 FIRES ON THE NEWS. SOUND LIKE ISSUSES THERE. This comment above is ridiculous. It also contains quite a few grammatical errors which makes it appear to come from an immature individual who has some other bone to pick besides actual apartment issues. It is completely awful and uncalled for to attack someone on a personal level. State the facts--not your emotions, please. This website should be a place to share real apartment opinions--not your feelings / frustrations about a particular person. Every apartment complex all over the world has construction and repair issues to deal with and it is absolutely unprofessional and in bad taste to personally attack anyone in management. I am sure they are working as hard as they can to resolve each and every detail. I recently moved into Windward and while yes, there are still some things that need to be remedied in my apartment, the community is great so far. The management has been helpful and it is clear that they have lots of issues to deal with and are working through each one at a time. Which is all anyone can and should expect! I plan to enjoy my time at Windward and have confidence that they will always do what they can to fix any problems in my unit and to make sure I stay a happy resident.
