Okay, we've been living at FairLake At Weston for a little over 2 years, while we've been saving money to buy a new house. While we do understand that this is an apartment complex and things happen, in our opinion it just boggles the mind when we hear the management of FairLake At Weston constantly states that "nothing is their fault."
We do feel that we are paying the same amount of rent as everyone else that's living here, and our quality of life should be the same as everyone else's. We have just been living innocently here, when the management placed the "crazy family" in the apartment below us. It certainly isn't our fault that they live there. So who should claim responsibility for the placement of this family' The FairLake At Weston management claims that it is "not their fault."
And what about the break-in to my car as well as my son's car and the neighbor's car' Weston is an upscale city, so break-ins shouldn't regular occur, but apparently they do. Maybe security here isn't as effective as the management thinks it is. Granted, a car break-in is an unexpected occurrence, but this sort of thing should not happen here.
And then the accident destroying our staircase and tarnishing the look of the exterior to my home. Sure, it was an accident, but a dangerous damaged staircase was left unattended to for an entire day, then a botched fix-it job, and now the entire staircase will have to be replaced with an entire day or two of construction.
How will we enter and exit our apartment on that day' Since I work from home, how will I speak with clients on the phone and concentrate on my work with loud banging and construction' Certainly this is an inconvenience to me, the innocent tenant, and quite aggravating to say the least. After all, this isn't the first incident, but now the 3rd major incident to happen since I've been here.
In my opinion, since we have had 3 infuriating occurrences in the last 2 years, I would think that as a sign of good faith, that some type of compensation should be offered to me, the innocent tenant, as a way of saying "we're sorry for all the stress and aggravation you've had to endure while living at FairLake At Weston, but we care that you live here and give us money each month, so we want to show our appreciation".
We feel that possibly some type of rebate towards our monthly rent or a complimentary week or two would demonstrate excellent customer service, and compensate us for weeks and months of incidents. Well, I did mention this nicely to the management, but was given a flat-out "no". "It's not our fault, and we're not giving you anything."
So much for customer service. It's interesting that on weekends they have big sign out on the street offering "1 month free rent" for new tenants. Apparently they're desperate for new business, but could care less about losing the business they already have.
Just my opinion....
