I have lived at Riverlake Apartments for going on 10 years. Recently, they went through a change in management. This is the biggest mistake that the owners have ever made. I have always had the pleasure of knowing the employees. They cared about me and the property. The new people came in and let the best employee that they had, Carol, go. They gave no reason other than she was too close with the prior manaagement. The old manager was her daughter. She was terrific also. Carol is one of the sweetest, kindest, caring people that I have ever known. Getting rid of her for personal reasons was the biggest mistake that this company has ever made. Everyone is moving. I went in to introduce myself to the new manager. She is VERY unprofessional. Nothing like I have ever dealt with in the past at this office. She was actually on the phone CURSING very loudly at the telephone company. She was using words that no lady should every utter. She made no apologies for this type of language either. She actually told the lady that went in to tell her that I wanted to speak with her that she didn't have time for me. I heard this with my own ears. I have never been so shocked! This woman is very nasty. She never smiles. I have heard the talk around the complex and everyone is as dissatisfied as I am. Riverlake has always been a home to many people. We felt comfortable coming in to speak with the office and the maintenance people. People are moving like craxy. I haven't ever seen this complex so empty as it is now. The buildings are falling down. They attempted to repair them, but they jsut covered it up with new stucco. The building near mine had a wall that was exposed and they didn't fix it right. I watched them do it. Getting rid of the old management was the biggest mistake that the owners of this complex has ever done. Now, there is no reason not to move on to the newer apartments that are in the area. The only reason that many of us chose this place was due to the office staff being so nice and caring. Now, everything has changed. Go to Carlton Arms or Village at Lake Ned. That's where I am going.

I am so sad to read your review. My wife and I left in September 2003 and the place was beautiful. We only left to return to the UK. We have a dear friend who still lives there. As they say, 'A place is only as good as the people who run it'. I have only good memories of River Lake. I even worked there as groundsman for a while..
