I am finally finishing up my dreadful year at Berkshires. When I inquired about Berkshires, they showed me a beautiful model, with new cabinets, and bathrooms. When I arrived at my apartment after signing the lease, there was still cat food on the kitchen floor from the tenant before me. Not to mention the massive hole in the guest tub, and under the window in the spare bedroom.
I need to mention the odor. As my husband and I were putting together our new kitchen table, I could smell urine. I called management the next morning and told them that I couldn't eat in my dining room because the smell was so foul. 3 weeks later, they showed up and cleaned the dining room carpet. After the odor lingered on, I called 2 days after they showed up. I was told that I was being inconsiderate of the cleaning crew and that I had a brand new carpet. A month later, they replaced the carpet in the dining room, and the padding had been urinated on so much it was BLACK. Nice new carpet right'
We were promised a laundry room door when we moved in June. We received one in February...that is about 6 inches off the ground and 2 inched from each side. Ridiculous.
The management will argue with you, and so will corporate. They lost my rent one month, and after I faxed them a copy of the CLEARED check, they said I could have paid Amscot with it. I guess they missed their endorsement on the back.
Anyone like Gang fights' If you do, sign your lease at Berkshires. I have seen 3 gang fights in 2009 alone. (I am writing this on April 12th, 2009.) Not to mention the bums that climb over the walls, vandalism to the cars from the unsupervised herds of children, and loud Mexican music nightly.
I have 49 days left, and I am out of the Hell Hole, named Berkshires.
