I picked this place because it was large and I didn't want a property manager who would be hovering over me constantly. Because of this, I knew they'd be slow to respond to any issues I might have. They do tend to violate some Florida Statutes (notably those concerning notification of where your deposit is after move-in, notification that they entered your apartment, and not sending deposit claims certified mail). Other than that they're okay. Had a lot of problems with my A/C unit last summer, but after hounding them they actually fixed it and installed a whole new compressor that fixed those problems. For that I was very appreciative. Walls are a bit thin between units, but first floors are separated from second floors by a concrete slab, so sound between floors should be deadened out pretty well. I encountered a few palmetto bugs, but you'll find these in any apartment complex in Florida.
After moving out, the first notice I received that I even owed them money was nearly 6 months after I left! They did not send a claim against my deposit via certified mail as required by Florida Statutes (by their own admission). They sent my account to a collection agency who was extremely rude, but once I contacted the complex directly they took the account back and I am working directly with them to resolve this.
They would also sometimes enter my apartment to fix problems that I wasn't aware of and never left a note (as they are required per Florida statues). This left me coming home and noticing my apartment had been entered, which would cause me to call the office to determine if it was them or if I should be calling the police. In their defense, there was ONE time they did leave notice.
There was a crazy lady who moved in next to me that precipitated my moving out. She was very passive aggressive and would slam on my walls, no matter how low my TV volume was. While moving out, she keyed up my front door at some point. But this is not the complex's fault, per se.

You're so right about entering the apartment, but they did it WHILE I WAS HOME! They didn't knock they just came right in. I come out the bathroom and find people in the living room taking pictures. Then another time i came home to some random guy cutting a hole in my living room wall, I was pretty pissed about them not notifying me that they were coming or that there was even a problem in my apartment, but besides that and the GIGANTIC roaches it was a really an alright place to live
