I lived at Bishop Park for a little over a year with my sister. She lived in the complex for a total of about 7 years. Overall I had a good experience living there with a few exceptions...

Parking near my building was usually sufficient unless you got home late at night. There was a row of trees and bushes that divided the road which provided parking on either side, but having to park where I couldn't see my car from my apartment was not good..this brings me to my car being broken into. It was about 2 weeks before Christmas and I had to park on the other side of the trees so I couldn't see my car. Yes, I should have moved my car the next morning but I was off work and didn't think about it. I did call the Winter Park police department and they did send an officer out. I filled out a police report and my sister reported it to the office.

Next, the gate was ALWAYS broken. I doubt that if it was working at the time my car got broken into, it would have kept it from happening because so many cars got in everytime anyone would swipe their gate card. People would actually line up in front of the gate until someone was leaving or until someone with a card would get there to open the gate.

Then there was the trash compactor...I can't say that I didn't ever leave my trash on top of the pile that was already there, but what else were we supposed to do when there were raccoons all over'! When there wasn't a heap of trash on the ground we would do our best at getting the bags in the dumpster, but didn't want to get to close in case something jumped out! If I were a prospective tenant, I think I would have turned around when I saw the overflowing garbage...it just doesn't look good when you first pull into the complex.

All in all though, I liked living there. It wasn't very convenient for me but it would be if you are a student at UCF or Valencia, or go to work in that area. I work the opposite direction and traffic was a nightmare going towards Altamonte every morning. If there were any problems maintenance was quick to respond, and the office staff was always nice and professional. I would recommend living here, just make sure you have a car alarm!

I can't believe you'd recommend this place when your description is laced with negative comments! Trash, broken gate, car break-ins, insufficient parking... Admit it, this place sucks!!!
