The area isn't the best. It's Winter Park, but not the "Winter Park" people would like it to be. The gym is very small and the pool always seems dirty. The apartments are a good size and reasonably priced.

It's a gated community, but they aren't always closed at night and people are constantly breaking them. There is only one dumpster in the entire community, which is overflowing each weekend. There are homeless people who live on the other side of the brick fence surrounding the front and you can hear them talking when you get mail...kinda scary when you're getting the mail by yourself at night.

One night my hubcap was stolen (they only took one). My car was broken into once, but luckily nothing was stolen.

It was a pretty quite neighborhood. Not a lot of students, which was surprising for the area.

When we moved in, we were told we'd get a new vanity/cabinet in the bathroom because the current on had a whole in the cabinet (overed with plywood). We never received it, even after bringing it to their attention. We also requested a new microwave when we moved in. It was from the early 80s and not in very good shape (the only feature was a turn dial that went up to 20 minutes). They wouldn't replace it.

Basically, you are getting what you pay for.
