When we moved in, we were excited about the private entrance and the spa. After the first few months the spa broke and they told my boyfriend they'd fix it. They never did. Although that was mildly irritating, the more irritating stuff didn't happen until a year and a half later. We were, for the most part, content with the interior of our apartment. It was good enough, but I wish I hadn't settled because things have taken a turn for the worse. We had some problems with the noise. We had to move out of our apartment, despite our busy schedules, so they could "renovate," and then moved back in. We had to get membership to a gym because the management renovated the one we used to have.
What bothers me so much is that management has lied to us on more than one occasion.
For example, it doesn't charge everyone the same rent. I have a good intuitive sense about people, and ------ lied to us on a couple occasions about the "upgrades," "things that needed to be fixed," and the "rent increase." If they think you will pay more, they may lie to you to try to get more money out of you. To prove it, ------ called us right before it was time to renew our lease finally offering us the same "deal" they gave other residents. She knew we weren't going to fall for her antics!
This year we've had it. My boyfriend was really irritated about the roaches and how direspectful some of the people here can be. The worst problem we've ever encounterd in a living siutation has been with this apartment complex. Not only is management dishonest, they are nasty too!
Watch out for these people: -----, ------, and some lady named ------. One maintenance guy is dishonest too.
As a warning, if anything really bad ever happens to you or your apartment here, these people are in cahoots. The walls are super-thin and our neighbors' cigarette smoke is coming into our apartment, and it's not just a little smoke. I'm allergic and have asthma, so it's a health hazard for me. We've taken several steps to solve this problem. We talked to our neighbors, Full Sail students, and they said they'd smoke on the porch so we could be "neighbors." But they started smoking even more, out of spite. Instead of helping us, the management has given us a really hard time. They harassed us with letters (threats) instead of taking responsiblity and correcting the problem, and they refused mediation (We went to the Orange County Bar Association). I think they are afraid of a lawsuit, but instead of doing the right thing, they've resorted to bullying. We've called the Health Department and the Better Business Bureau. We've told our friends.
Watch out for your money and your credit here!--they find sneaky ways to take your money and, if you try to hold them accountable for anything serious, they make your life a living hell. They'll even go so far as to mess with your utilities. They told the water company that we moved out and another resident moved in. Someone from NES told my boyfriend that CAlibre Bend authorized this change, and ------ (staff)said it was ----- ----. ------ was very rude when she told me this and took a bullying tone like the management wasn't pleased with us, probably because we had complained about things that needed to be fixed.
------ is also the major reason we are going through what we are going through now. She has a way of pitting people against each other. She got ----- really upset with us, claiming we were mean to her when we went into the office for help about the smoke. ----- called my boyfriend up, who took off work to try and resolve the issue, and that's when the harassment began. She tried to change the subject and told him that ------ was scared of him and then made an implication that he was a "Charles Manson." In the response to the Better Business Bureau, she said that it wasn't a direct comparison, but I find it really unprofessional that she would even bring up Charles Manson to make her point. The implication is there or she wouldn't bring it up in the first place. Gentlemen, if you want these overbearing women to mess with you and compare you to a serial killer (if you should decide to be assertive,)then come live here!
We had been paying them more than we needed to, pro-rating our monthly rent with interest so we wouldn't have so much to pay at the end. They sent us a letter this month asking us for more rent than we've ever paid, and they want us to pay them for our water bill. We've already paid the water company, and they want to collect on it, too! Our lease is up in a month, and then this nightmare will be over.
If we're lucky, we might find a place sooner. I am so over this place!

Dude I was one of your neighbors. I've been living here just as long as you have and the office staff are really cool. I know who you guys are and you really need to check yourselves. I am the neighbor who gave in writing to the office how you were harassing me and everyone else. This is a free country, I will smoke where I want, when I want, and how much. Dude you can't believe how happy I am that you guys have gone. There is no need for you to write all this bogus stuff. WARNING: to anyone reading this posting these people have written - it is a crock of bull.
