We we really excited about our move to Hunter's Ridge. But from the moment we arrived on, everything was a hassle.
Our new apartment was a disaster when we walked in. It had been poorly cleaned, and had many obvious problems that should have been fixed.
We went to the office to complain to the property manager who apologized and offered to have it fixed... if we wanted to wait a few days to move in. Of course, we had taken off work, rented the U-haul, were having furniture delivered, etc. etc. and could not wait to move in.
So, we moved into a dirty apartment and cleaned it ourselves.
While we lived there, we were constantly calling maintenance. The maintenance crew was extremely friendly, and probably the biggest asset to the complex. Unfortunately, there just weren't enough of them. It usually took quite a while to get anything repaired, no matter how important it was.
Once, the deadbolt on our back door got stuck and would not lock. It took them over TWO WEEKS to come out and repair it. For two weeks we called, complained, talked to them in person, etc. to try and get someone to fix the problem, as we could not lock our door until they did.
From the time that we moved in, until the time that we left, our bathroom sink leaked. Despite calling at least a few times a month, it was never fixed.
Now that we are moving out, we are getting cheated out of our deposit. Apparently, the property manager has completey forgotten our entire conversation on move-in day about how dirty the apartment was, and they are trying to charge us outrageous cleaning fees for things that occured before we moved in. At my last two apartments I received 100% of my deposits back, so I know that I take care of my living space, and do a thorough cleaning job before vacating.
Overall, this is the worst apartment I have ever lived in.
