I have lived here for 16 months and truthfully speaking, the maintenance is a little slow but eventually they get it done. If you have a serious issue they get right on it. The staff has been pretty good to me and everywhere you go you will have problems from time to time luckily I haven't had any real bad issues with them. The rent is a little steep for my size unit but hey it's home to me. Yes they helped people with credit issues, but hey how would you feel if you had some trouble and no one wanted to help you. They work with many situations from residence on a case by case situation. I had some problems with money not going where it was supposed to but as soon as I took it to the new management it was immediately looked into and corrected. The apartments are old so some things come with age. I think a little more could be done for residents that renew their lease but people, the office staff all answer to someone higher. They have to do as they are told. Now if you get in on a special cool but if not and you have decent credit choose wisely. I mean I have had 2 sets of tenants below me and for the most part they have all been pretty cool, but I mind my business and take care of my kids so I don't have all the neighbor issues. The laundry facilities are crappy and really that's my biggest issue. Aside from patch work by maintenance but hey like I said it's home. So if you need a place to live or call home it's far better than the street and if you are respectable the staff with treat you as such. Don't get me wrong I know some respectable people that have been treated badly but we all have bad days. I hope this has been helpfull for you all.

I hear you and appreciate your honesty; and I think you have a good attitude toward these difficulties.
But that doesn't change my opinion, based on my years there, that there is serious blame to be attached to the owners and their minions in the office for taking advantage of people who are down on their luck and stuck there. I don't cut the Nazis a break for 'just taking orders' and I would starve in the street before I'd be any part of the system taking advantage of people's hard times to leech off them for profit. The owners are going to smoke a turd in hell for being slumlords, and every single person working at La Aloma has the choice to walk away and make money in a decent manner. All along the line, there are choices to be made between treating people with common decency and fairness, and taking their money and not giving even decent value in return.
Can you run an apartment complex and accommodate people who have credit problems and do that in a fair manner? Hell yes, you can. Does La Aloma? IMO, no.

Lol. You are very right. I just haven't had terrible problems with them and to those that have I hope you get justice in every way. My best to you all.
