La Aloma's rent is not cheap -- in fact, Carlton Arms next door is cheaper with much better facilities, everything works, and repairs are completed immediately. La Aloma exploits people with poor credit who can't afford to go somewhere else when they're cheated. I lived there for a year and also had plumbing leaks through walls, mildewy carpet, and holes in the ceiling. All the plumbings' going and they're too cheap to replumb. The state housing inspectors found La Aloma in violation of codes. I had neighbors who went without running water for weeks. There was also a lot of drug dealing going on. They really should be put out of business
