I've been here for almost 2 years now, and I'm not really impressed, but I'm not disgusted to leave either. In fact, the only reason why I stay with no plans to leave is because in the building next to me, several of my friends, many from high school live there. A few more close friends live a few more buildings down by the pool, my father lives with in walking distance, more friends are moving here in a few months, work and school is near by. In short everything is here. But not all is paradise in our little world so I'll summarize.

Pros:

Big apartments with an affordable price: Per square foot, who can get a better deal' Our rent, divided by 4 is only 232.50 utilities a month, and that's cheap!
Small fenced in yards: I paid extra to have a small yard that has an orange tree in it.
Location: Everything we need is here.
Sturdy Construction: This place held up very well when we got hit by 3 major hurricanes in our area with in a span of 2 and a half weeks back in 2004.
Community: In our small little nook, aside from our close friends, the neighbors are nice and quick to inform us if they notice something is not right.
Maintenance Crew: Very Friendly and quick to respond, but may become frustrated because of lack of resources and tools that is supposed to be provided by the leasing office. They are also tenants with their families living here too.

Cons:
Poor AC units: These things are older than I am, and I'm almost 30.
Bugs: One previous tenant in our building had poor housekeeping habits and the exterminator service the office hires is inadequate.
Parking: It's first come, first served, which is fine, but some of the angles and sharp turns you have to take make it difficult.
Leasing Office Staff: Flat out, they don't care and are slow to respond.
Dumpster: Got a frickin' dumpster outside my bedroom window, we can't open that window on cool nights because it still stinks.
Violence: There have been 2 murders within the complex. From what I heard, they were drug-related and not random so I'm not too worried of me being randomly attacked, but still, we have a loaded Glock ready.

My final assessment is one of complete apathy. The only reason why I stay is that everything I need and everyone I know is here and have become apathetic. I would recommend it if you are in a financial hardship, but if you can afford it, then go else where.

It was not a drug deal gone bad, nor was it of a random act of violence. The office is telling everyone it is a drug related homicide, but the sad truth is the office is up to it's eyeballs in a conspiracy amongst themselves. Don't listen to what the office is saying. They tried to con me until they found out how much I actually knew. I was then warned to keep my mouth shut.
