Steal Your Money and Give you Roaches

If you decide to live here, I hope you don't have nice furniture because you will have to get rid of all of it when you move out. I have never ever seen a roach infestation like they have. We called and they sent an exterminator who was a joke. He sprayed a little bit of the living room and left. We lost a $600 couch among other things to the roaches.

The closet doors in the bedroom fall off their tracks, I asked them to fix it and the maintenance woman just came in, hung the door back up, said "That was easy" and then left. Of course the next time I tried to open it it just fell off again.

A squirrel crawled into the wall and started chewing thru, trying to get into our apartment. We asked them to fix it and they just came in and stapled cardboard over it.

Then they started "renovating" the laundry room. Which is idiot speak for "ripping out all the washers and dryers and leaving the door open for a few months".

When it was a couple weeks from our lease ending they started REALLY ------- with us. First they told us we didn't give them 90 days notice, so we would be forced to pay pro-rated rent (at a higher month-to-month lease rate) up to the 11th.

Fine, whatever we'll pay it.

Then two weeks from move-out they lock the gates and tell us we have to pay $50 for a key, only $25 of which is refundable. No, ---- you, we'll just jump the gate.

Then we come home one day to find we have a new door! No phone calls, no warning that we'd need a new key. Now we have to hop a gate and climb through a window to get into our squirrel and roach-inhabited "apartment". Are we paying rent or are we squatting' Can't tell anymore.

Then they start sending us notices. First one telling us we owe them the entire last months rent of $1200 (our normal rent was about $800 w/ the hidden fees included) when we had already paid the pro-rated rent of $450. We made multiple phone calls leaving messages w/ the receptionist which were never returned.

Then when we're moving the last of our stuff out someone comes up to my boyfriend and hands him an eviction notice stating we must be out by the 11th (our original move out date). What a convenient coincidence. We march straight to the office which has conveniently JUST CLOSED. Another coincidence!

We finally get in touch with them the DAY they plan on "evicting" us, at which point the stupid ----- backs down claiming she "Never got notice of our rent payment." (There had never been a problem before).

In short, you're better off sleeping in the woods. Less roaches, same amount of wildlife, and it's free! Oh and you won't be locked out without warning!

Our lease is up in August, and we can't wait. Good to know that we should take extra precautions when we give out 90 day notice. They told us our rent would be around $650. We're paying $715 a month for a one bedroom, one bathroom, tiny ass apartment. They've tried to screw us out of our money but when we fought back they backed down. This place sucks!

This place is just awful. Who puts up gates and makes the RESIDENCES pay for the key to get in?? So basically, they FORCE us to pay to get into our apartment. It's beyond ridiculous. Can't wait to be moved out this weekend!
