It's a scam

I had not seen these reviews until after I had applied to the complex. After backing out well within the legal timeline, I was told that I would receive the entire security deposit back. It took ma a couple weeks of repetitive calling to get some sort of written note stating that I was in fact entitled to my money, but would get that from the management company.
It's now been 3 months, and I'm still continually having to call the management company. I've spoken to a dozen people, multiple times, and none of them seem to know why I've not gotten my money. They tell me that they don't have the authority to write a check, but despite my requesting them to do so, I have not heard anything from the regional manager who would be able to. I have recently received some of my money back, but not all of it. I have just called again, and spoken to yet another person who doesn't know why I've not been paid. Nobody seems to know what is going on, or willing to lift a finger to find out.
All in all, I'm glad I hadn't given them any more money to rip me off.
