I lived for about 9 months until my apartment was robbed. I came home to find my door half open and my place ransacked. Me and my roomate lost about $15,000 worth of electronics, accessories and clothes. Oh yea this all happened within 2 days of the maintenance doing an inspection with the light company. A little suspicious considering we were on vacation and my house was robbed only a day before I came home and a day after they came to the apartment without my consent. When I tried to talk to the management I kept recieving the run around that the property manager couldn't see me becuase she had billing to do. I think my home getting broken into was a little more important. She had the nerv to tell me that she couldn't talk because she had to leave and go to her mother-in-law's birthday. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT''!! On top of that there was a hold in my closet since the day I moved in that they never took care of. Yea it wasn't visible to anyone visiting but I knew it was there. Moral of the story is stay away if you have nice stuff and don't want it stolen.

Understandable... Tips for future reference.
1.) Screen/choose your friends: Word spreads of WHAT YOU OWN. BE CAREFUL who you make friends with (some might not rob you, but others won't just shut up and keep secrets).
2.) BE PRESENT for EACH/EVERY maintenance check: Maintenance guys? Be cool with them, they're friendly... But SECOND-PARTY and THIRD-PARTY folks, like cable or lights? They're strangers. BE THERE when they're in your place.
3.) Watch/limit your usage of electronics: If you have your media up REALLY loud 'cause it sounds cool... chances are, others will be listening to "how cool" it sounds. It's like waving a red flag, "Hey I got some expensive stuff in here!"
4.) Coming/going out of your apartment: BE QUICK AND DIRECT. Don't stand around your car or just chill outside too often... It'll determine which car is yours in the parking lot, which means - if your car's not there, NO ONE'S HOME.
Take care, hope this helps.
