Exterior and show unit were beautiful when I was shopping for a home. The staff was friendly and seemed to jump right on top of any problems. Then I signed.

During the move-in inspection, I complained about missing screens on my unit. I was assured that they were being ordered. That was in January and the only thing that has changed is that now nearly all units have missing screens.

I picked this complex over its neighbor because, although similar in price, they had nicer amenities, especially a 24 hour gym. The machines in the gym started breaking in the Spring. I complained, nicely at first, and nothing was ever done. They just assured me that the problems were a week away from being fixed - every week. It's been 6 months and nothing has been done. The manager actually assured me, in writing, that the problems were being fixed 5 months ago. No progress. The machines have gone from difficult to completely broken.

Complaining to the office staff gets smiles and assurances that problems are being addressed and that they are just waiting for someone to send parts, which takes a week. This excuse is given for every problem at this place, and it is repeated week after week. If you call them out on this, they'll switch over to saying that it's simply not their problem. The only time I got ANYTHING accomplished with them was when I started calling numbers I found on their parent company's website. One call to the local management's boss got a previously unfixable problem fixed in days. The problem is, Capreit, the parent company, makes finding anyone in their organization nearly impossible.

If you go on a tour of this place, actually touch some of the machines in the gym. The bench press hasn't worked in months, the TV is gone, and most other machines have broken or missing arts that are obvious when looked at. Even if you don't care about the gym, this should be a good indicator of how things are maintained around here. The office staff only gets commissions for new leases. It's actually in their best interest to drive you away after you get suckered in.
