When I moved to this apartment complex, I thought it looked nice. The staff seemed helpful and courteous and the place had a nice feel. That was of course when I moved in. One of the first issues is that there are roaches. I only saw two in the months that I have lived here, but that is two too many in my opinion. Also, the actual quality of the place is sub par. It's basically gilded in that everything looks nice at first, but once you really start looking it's terrible. One example is the actual lock on the door. It's very hard to open from outside and sometimes, I had to struggle with it for 2 minutes.
One big issue is noise. First of all, the walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors all the time. For example, the person above me would play a guitar at 12:00 at night. Second, there are people making noise all over the place. There are parties all the time and I have also heard people arguing and yelling and stuff like that, late at night.
Hopefully you don't have a car when your moving in, otherwise you'll be taking a long walk every night. There is nowhere near enough parking spaces to accommodate all the cars, so often I had to walk a little ways to my apartment. Which is fine for one night, but is a real pain every time I park.
Safety is the real issue. I have decided to leave because my apartment was broken into and some of my stuff was taken. I no longer feel safe in my apartment. In fact, I'm going to break my lease just to get away from this place. After it happened, some of the grounds people came by and one mentioned that a break in had happened a couple days before. After that, I got curious and started looking online and found multiple drug busts and at least one murder has occurred here.
If your looking into this place, I would recommend looking somewhere else. Even if you put every other issue aside, the safety alone should make you go somewhere else. I just hope that the same mistake I made doesn't happen to anyone else.

My car was broken in at this place b/c I had to park it on the outside peremeter of the lot, and the overnight guard never noticed. A cop knocked on my door during the wee hours because he was driving in the complex for another disturbance and found my glass shattered and blood everywhere from the robber cutting himself on the glass. I also had a constant battle with roaches and lots of maint. problems. I do not recommend living at Whisper Lake.

I lived at Whisper Lake for two and a half years, I saw ONE roach the entire time I lived there. It's Florida, there's bugs. Also, the roaches aren't their problem, they have a guy come spray for bugs, AND roaches are due to your cleanliness. If you have trash in your place or you don't keep your ---- clean, you're going to get roaches. I NEVER had my car broken into, and I knew most of the people in the apartment complex who never had that problem, either. The only reason there's any break ins at the apartment complex is because it's right next to Full Sail, and locals know that Full Sail students live at the apartment complexes in the area, and that they have nice, expensive ----. ...ask maintenence about a new lock. That's the dumbest complaint I've heard so far. Noise is a problem, but not from thin walls. I've had various different neighbors, and have no absolutely no problem with hearing them. The only noise problem you'll get is neighbors partying because it's a college apartment complex. I and nobody I know have ever had any trouble with parking. I think you're just whining to whine because you're probably too lazy to walk to your apartment. And the murder didn't happen at the complex, you ------- retard. Do better research. And there's drug busts in every apartment complex. That's why whisper lake does random searches so often. This is definitely the safest, and nicest apartment complex in the Full Sail area.
