Chatham Pines "luxury apartment homes"

I have been a resident nearly 7 years, through 3 owners, now on 3rd management team. Under ZOM, apt & parking rules were clear and enforced. Under Gannon, rules were clear and occasionally enforced. Now, under Gables Residential, the management team is hardly a "team" at all. Calls for semi-urgent maintenance cannot be processed by Michael/Miguel. Kristin is quite friendly but clearly just wants any problem to go away on its own. Edgar, the manager, is always apologizing but, like Kristin, never actually gets anything done. I note the latest review was in 2005, under Gannon, and those comments were an accurate reflection of my own experiences with them. Gables has made extensive, but quite superficial, changes to the buildings and grounds that took months, resulted in no real improvement, greatly inconvenienced all the residents during the process, and did nothing but provide work for inexperienced day laborers. Police are frequently called to the complex. "Courtesy Officer" is good for nothing but parking a marked unit in the lot. Convenient parking for residents is non-existent due to all the visitors' cars in the spaces nearest the apt buildings. The rent is excessive for the quality/size of units and now every unit is assessed a water bill based on similar-unit average--not individual average! I would STRONGLY discourage anyone from moving here under Gables. Perhaps if the new Texas owners would return ZOM, I would not feel it necessary to keep a loaded handgun in my apartment for safety. Gables is letting anyone and everyone move in just to keep the occupancy rate high. They stay for the free month and then leave... Think about it.

I totally agree with you! I sat at my apartment window last weekend and watched some kids smoke pot out in the parking lot. As the noise became excessive I called the courtesey officer whom to this day on my 3rd call has never responded. My handicapped parents don't bother visiting because there is always some kids or teenager parking their race rockets in the handicapped spots, and as you have said parking is ridiculous and complaints are brushed aside with "oh my gosh Im sorry's" I'm thinking of breaking my lease because I just can't stand it here anymore!!!!!! This is an overpriced and horrible apartment complex!
