Relatively Decent

I moved to Willa Springs in 2004 and it has been a relatively decent experience. I am not an employee of Con Am or the new owner, I am a former resident that has used apartmentratings.com for over 4 years.
The Pros
- Quiet Neigborhood
- I had a good experience with maintenance crew. I had my refigerator replaced along with my water heater within a reasonable amount of time
- Clean Neighborhood
- Garbage Compactors were regularly cleared, even now and then there would be a piled up. I used the compactor by the office, so that might explain why it was clean.
- Parking was good in my area. There are parts such as Phase 2 or the Middle section of Phase 1 that do get crowded.
- Washer and Dryer Included.
- During Huricane Charley, ice was bought to the residents.
The Cons
- Watch out! There are children everywhere and they run around and ride their bikes in the street alot! You have to drive slow and alert to avoid hitting a errant child.
- The Leasing Office was okay. I did have one negative experience. I was on vacation and forgot to send the rent check. Even though it was my ONLY late rent check, I was charged 75 late fee and required to get a Cashier's Check. No grace, which is a real disappointment.
- The wildlife. Watch out there are raccoons that pace around at night and they are big. This is something that can not be helped since they are near a wooded area.
- The apartments did look cheap, BUT Willa Springs did repaint the entire complex, even though some of the colors were lame.
- During renovation, the screens were cut apart and not replaced for almost a month.
- For almost a month, an entire section of the complex street lights would turn off. Apparently there was a bad breaker and they were waiting for the part. It was annoying and sometimes unsafe.
- The walls are thin in Phase 1 apartments, so neighbors might be able to hear the moderate playing music or even the televison.
- The rent prices have JUMPED! Pricey, but that's the story with Central Florida a the moment.
Overall, I enjoyed my time at Willa Springs. If you have the money, definetly get into Phase 2. They are bigger and almost nicer.
