I have lived here almost 4 years and have been very happy, with management, but mostly with the maintenance staff, they are GREAT!!! I have always paid my rent early and never bounced a payment. In spite of numerous floods in my apt. and some neighbors being rowdy, smashing my windshield and bashing down my screens, I never blamed the complex and all was taken care of by the great maint. staff and mgmt. during those times. I paid to have my carpeting cleaned every 3-4 months and just this year paid to have the apt. painted. Being 67, and having back and neck injuries, I was most hopeful I would be here for the rest of my life (packing and lifting would take a toll). However, like others have mentioned here, those presently in the management office could not care less about a good tenant. Time is here to renew and they jerked my rent to $962.00 in spite of vacant identical (la brisas) apt.s available both at the complex's site and rent.com being advertised as low as the high $700.00s for a 14 month lease which I have always taken. When I called the office I was told my increase was not negotiable. So much for respect to a senior citizen who lives alone and never has company. I am now in the process of packing up to move and needless to say the expense and pain is causing me great anger. I will be moving into another UDR apt. complex in hopes that this is only a location problem and not their corporate practice. Like others say, if you want a place for 6-12 months this is fine.
