They boast lots of amenities that are just window dressing and often unable to be used - but you are paying for these just the same. Despite all the crime and under age drinking, the only rules enforced with regularity are those regarding collection of rent and fees. Repairs or improvements that can be avoided are avoided to save a buck. Any quality of life touted here is mere window dressing designed to get you to sign the lease.
