Nice aparment

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007

Used to live there for a year. As always there were some good and bad things, but compared to my current 'luxury' apartments Alara Park Bridge is awesome.

Things I liked:
- Management and maintenance was okay. Same two or three people I used to see in the office were very nice and helpful. All maintenance requests were completed either the same of next day.
- Well kept. There sidewalks around the whole complex, lots of open space, large green lawns. Property looks much less congested then most of other apartments (probably due to the fact that part of the cars are kept in garages).

Things I did not like:
- Electric company they are using is Suwanee. For some reason it is way more expensive then Georgia Power. 1 bedroom apartment I rented was located on the top floor (corner unit) so it was very cold. During summer it was a huge plus, but winter heating bills were enormous. I am sure all this depends on where the apartment is located.
- I could hear whenever anybody was walking the staircase. Sound isolation between apartments was okay, but the staircase was very loud.
- The gate was broken half of the time. The gate is also rather pointless since anybody can park on the nearby plaza and just walk in

Things that can go either way:
- There is a small plaza on the edge of the apartments. It seems like a nice plaza, but I've read several news reports about robberies in a broad daylight there. So, on one hand you have a convenience of having several restaurants nearby (and Publix across the street) but on the other hand the potential crime is closer to your home.
- The prices are a bit on a higher end. The whole reason I moved out was because I needed larger apartment and felt like 2 bedroom ones were a bit too expensive for me. I ended up renting two bedroom apartment one block away for 200$ less then it would cost in Alara. I also ended up living between a noisy and considerate people whose dogs use my sidewalk as their bathroom. I guess you get what you pay for.

Overall I enjoyed my stay there and would also recommend it to other people. I am also thinking about moving back.
