Lived here for 8 months now, and I'm thinking I'll stay.

I've lived in several apartments and this is by far the best place I've ever lived.

Good points:
The staff have all been very friendly and helpful, both in the office and the maintenance people. Actually the least nice person I've had to work with is the manager, and that's just because he's a stickler for rules, and even he has been very nice and helpful once we got the lease details worked out. We've had several calls in at diferent times and they almost always fix the problem within a day of reporting it. The only exception I can think of was when our microwave broke and they didn't have the right size replacement in stock, so they gave us a replacement to set on the counter for the few days it took to get one in. I haven't had any trouble with any of the other appliances, though, they're all very nice.

The landscaping is beautiful and amenities are great. They have the best gym I've ever used, by far, and my roommate says the pool is great. (I haven't used it yet, to busy using the gym so someday I'll look good in my bathing suit) There are nice walking paths and a small lake in the center of the property that sometimes has ducks or geese. There is a nice covered carwash, and John (the manager) just put in a new pressure washer. Not that I use it much but the playground seems really nice. (Ok, I admit it, I'm 26 and still like the swings) The staff throw parties regularly, and I always mean to go, but I haven't made it yet.

Bad points:
The carpet really shows dirt, so I'd recommend having it professionally cleaned at least twice a year, maybe more. There was some shoddy work in building the apartments, electrical sockets that are kinda loose in the wall, some scarring of the woodwork, though some if this I should probably blame on my movers. I'm right by the stais and I do hear people going up and down them, but it's not bad, and I do here neighbors walking above me, but that's not bad except a few times when is sounded like they were moving furniture. Utility bills seem a bit high, and I think this may be due to poor insulation. The electric bill was horriple over the summer with having to run the air conditioner and all, but part of this may be due to this being a much bigger appartment than I'm used to. Also there seems to be poor air flow throughout the apartment so heating and air conditioning are uneven throughout the apartment, but I'm buying a fan and hopefully that will help.

Someone keeps breaking the arm on the gate every weekend, but I swear they must keep replacement arms in stock, cause they replace the arm by morning everytime it's broken at night. The worst thing about security is that there's no seperate visitor's entrance so if someone's trying to visit they get stuck at the call box while other cars whip around them and through the gate, so I feel sorry for anyone who comes to visit.

And other stuff:
I live in the apartments, so I can't speak for the townhome portion of the property. They are a couple of years older than the apartments, but they have their own pool and gathering area. I have walked over there though and everything looks nice to me and the people I meet are friendly. I am in the habit of taking walks around the complex at night after I get home from my night classes (I do the work and school thing) and I have never felt unsecure walking alone around the complex as it is well lit. Oh and I forgot to mention that the tennis courts are apparently nice, though I don't play my roommates do. There's also a beach volleyball court by the tennis courts.

All in all this is one of the best places to live in the Alpharetta/Suwanee area, and definately the best four-bedroom apartment we found. It is a little pricy in my book, but now that I'm here I definately think it's worth the cost, especially for families. It's a great family area and all the kids I've met have been well behaved. The neighbors I've met have been few, I'm gone a lot, but they have always been nice. I am seriously considering getting my own smaller apartment in this complex after the end of this lease. (my roommates are off gettin married or transfered and stuff)

So in summation, I would definately recommend this as a place to live. I've had no real negative living experiences here.
