Overcharging Customers to live here

This apartment complex is pretty on the outside but I would not recommend living here. They are overcharging tenants in fees and also charging tenants for utilities that they don't even possess. This place is a huge ripoff.

I am being charged a gas bill and I don't have gas. I only have electric. I am being charged for electric as well by the Addison Place and I already pay an separate electric bill through another electric power company, so this fee for electric from Addison Place is in addition to my electric bill from the electric power company.

I am being charged a trash removal fee, a pest control fee (by the way, which they are not doing a very good job of controlling the insects. I never see anyone on the property spraying for insects), and a security system charge (by the way there is no attendant at the gates and the gates are open most of the time and when they are not open people always drive up right behind you so that they can follow you right through the gate into the complex. In other words I don't feel secure so why am I paying a fee for it').

Oh, and there is also an administration fee of $9.99 which I think is double of what is was before this new company took over.

Their logic for charging for water is absolutely asinine and nothing I have ever heard of before. They are charging for water usage by the square footage of the apartment. It doesn't even matter if 1 person lives in the apartment. You will receive a water bill in an amount that would normally reflect several people living in your apartment.

Also the walls are so thin here that you constantly hear your neighbors if they are in their apartment. I hear my neighbors having sex, sneezing, and snoring. I hear my neighbors walking, their babies crying, and their kids running.

This is our last year here. We will not be renewing our lease when it comes up for renewal. I would advise anyone before contemplating living here to look for some place where you won't be cheated and a place where you are paying only for the utilities you use. This new company is horrible.

Also, I looked up the billing company for Addison Place on the Better Business Bureau website and they have 23 complaints that have been filed against them within 36 months.

Great review of what's really going on here!! If you have a lease from the old owner (Robert's) you are not legally obligated to pay anything but water and sewer. My lease was prior to this new freaking "rip off company" and I complained about the erroneous charges and requested a meeting between the manager, myself and my lawyer. My next bill was adjusted, removing all charges except water and sewer. But, that bill is erroneous too!! I am one person with SIX below and FOUR above. I HATE paying for thier water!!
