The previous owners were great, management was great, no complaints. All that changed with the ownership. Since leaving, and being told my account was paid, all clear, nothing owed, good to go, I have (several months elapsed) been contacted by a collection agency. Addison Place invented numerous expenses, changed the date of my move-out (to charge additional rent) and billed me by the water company for services I never received by the company that didn't service the complex while I lived there.
Being so many months later, I didn't keep any records. (Foolish, I know, but I was paid up, moved to a house and didn't think about them again.)
Run like the plague! They are dishonest, corrupt and don't maintain the place.
Though I'm guessing rent will be getting cheap! Cash in is their only concern.
Every property this company has purchased has seen the same thing, they buy, get the cash out of existing tenants, cut expenses, don't maintain, then bail.
If I could afford to sue, I would.

This may help you... First get a copy of your move out inspection. You should have signed & dated this the day you turned in your keys. (Even though you may not have done a walk through with management). They can not charge you for additional water beyond the date you turned in your keys. And BTW, you should have gotten a written statement of charges by management WITHIN 30 days of the time of your move out date. They have to show some kind of documentation proving they tried to send you this letter. If they can't, then they have no leg to stand on. They can't just send you to a collection agency! These are GA Landlord/Tenant Laws. I see soooo many apartment communities rake tenants over the coals, and it annoys me!! This particular community does it alllll the time! Good Luck!
