You are not alone. I wish we could get together and take collaborative action. I am getting sick also and they refuse to address the issue. The owner cannot acknowledge that he purchased a "lemon" from the infamously notoriously abusive Archstone, which was sued in another community because of the mold/mildew issue. While Georgia is a state that is known for its mold/mildew issues simply because of its geography, these issues can be properly addressed.

Alara was sued for not having ramps for the disabled in wheelchairs, but I do agree that the apartment was horrible. I lived there for one year and in my second month of my contract I couldn't wait to get out of there. For the price that I paid at Alara (State Bridge not Park Bridge) I could have got something a whole lot better. Management was ehh and the maintenance person wasn't very nice.

Glindawitch, Why didn't you insist on seeing the actual unit you were going to rent? As renters, we have to be more proactive in getting what want before we become tenants. If a community can't or won't show you the actual unit you'll be renting, that's a red flag.
