I have read some of the reveiws and granted, most affordable places have a host of complaints. Due to our economy, I need to rent in a place that will allow for bad credit, hence my reason for considering this place. I see they are doing rennovations inside and out and it seems they are trying to clean-up. Please explain to me all the bills you pay besides rent so I can understand the nickle and diming a lot of companies do. Are there bug problems' Are there safety issues' Please give me the low-down. I appreciate all input.....negative and positive. Thanks

I would keep looking. A lot of places won't worry about your credit. The market is saturated and there are many vacancies right now. Don't settle! My boyfriend rented after going through bankruptcy.
I lived at Ashley Forest for a year and a half. It's NOT safe at all. Many break ins, and lot's of rif raf wandering around at all hours. The apartments are dumpy and nasty. I never ever swam in that nasty pool or used their so called fitness center. Gross. The place is just a dump!

I just had to sign another year's lease here for financial reasons. (3rd yeare here.) It's a roof over our heads and I feel fairly safe here, but don't expect maintenance to be done in a timely manner. You'll be lucky if it gets done at all. Don't expect to use the amenities, pretty much everything in the fitness center is broken. The pool only gets cleaned once a week and is therefore usually pretty disugusting. The trash piles up in the dumpster and overflows it weekly. There are lots of dogs here and they don't enforce cleanup so don't expect to use grassy areas unless you enjoy cleaning dog crap off your shoes. They are working on the place and maybe in 2012 it will be a nice place, but right now I'd put it at the bottom of your list. We have a 2br/1ba and pay about $35 a month for water/trash, $50 summer gas/$90 winter gas, $100 electric. All apartments have bugs. Throw out cardboard boxes ASAP after moving in and keep your place clean and you'll just get a few here/there. It is a convienient to lots of stuff (groceries, 400) but the apts themselves leave a lot to be disired.
