I moved in a few months ago and already regret it. The air conditioner is SOOO LOUD and the maintenance man told me that my a/c is fine and the noise is normal.Everything here is old and needs to be updated. My neighbors have already told me to be prepared for a huge rent increase, so with all the money they make why can't they do some renovations around here and maybe put up some gates. I will certainly be moving out as soon as my lease is up. I really wish I would have looked around some more before moving here.

The mechanical noise is a violation of the city noise ordinance, but if you don't have enough people who are upset about it, nothing can be done. The equipment, I was told, is on the planning board to be replaced. But I think the best thing to do is have one's own home, and then one can change what one doesn't like. This complex was renovated a few years ago. But the human factor of health and comfort was not thoroughly considered. If one of the units is noisier than the other units, it is obvious that the unit compressor is malfunctioning and NOT NORMAL. Where is the logic to the assessment that the noise is normal? Call a lawyer to see if you have a case against the owner. Maybe you can get out of your lease. Maybe alot of us thinking the same thing can get out of the lease. However, where do we all plan to move? all complexes have either people noise, crime, or mechanical or structural issues.
