My year at a Holcombs Pond was just AWFUL!!
(I find it very hard to believe the office staff and maintenance have changed that much in the short time since I left)
I had all kinds of maintenance problems. None of which were handled professionally. The maintenance staff always took forever to show up for repairs. Rarely did they do the work correctly the first time. It was always a big headache to get them to come back and do the job right. The office staff (with the exception of Anne who was very professional)was absolutly no help with this. One of their more famous excuses was " There are a LOT of things that need to be fixed around here, and you?ll just have to wait until they can get to you. That?s just the way it is" ]

The buildings are/were in terrible condition.
My apartment had a leaky roof. After constant calls to the office, the maintenance staff finally arrived. One of the maintenance admitted the building needed a new roof. An outside company eventually came out, but the leak was patched over from the inside only. By early spring it was leaking from the same spot as well as other.
The apartment was also very drafty. and the heater was not strong enough to heat the entire apartment. (according to the office staff, there was nothing that could be done about that)
The appliances in my apartment were very old (16 years old according to GE)when the refrigerator stopped working properly, the office was very resistant to put in a new one.
I had several other problems with my apartment. I knew of more than few other residents with problems as well.
If you?re thinking of moving here. I would highly recommend you take the time to speak with some of the current residents (on your own, not handpicked by the office staff)
