My experience at the apartments went well....

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
I've been a resident of the apartments for 2 years and found my experience there to be satisfactory. The apartments are old (I believe it was built in the late 80's/early 90's), but are kept in pretty good condition. We were on the top floor (w/fireplace) and didn't have to worry much about noise above us, but we did have a few issues with our neighbor below us playing loud music at all hours of the night. My husband spoke with him about that one day and it stopped then (thank god). The location of the apartment worked well for us (on the corner of the unit) b/c we never had to worry about parking (there was always more than enough space for our guests when we had gatherings). When it came time to renew our lease after 1 year, we got the option of getting brand new carpet installed (the other one had burn marks from hookah's my guests enjoyed)!! Sometimes I credit that to my husband, b/c he's a pretty tough negotiator. But they did that & got us a brand new refrigerator once when ours wasn't working well, w/o incurring any charges. I have to say, all of the leasing agents were very helpful to us (esp. Roxanna). Oh, and for the complex to be so large, it stays pretty quiet sometimes (I especially enjoy weekend mornings on the patio). There are a few kids that like to play in the parking lot area every now and then, but my husband spoke to them about not doing that too often cause it can be pretty dangerous, and they obliged. They pool needs to cleaned out more often in the summer time, there are dead bugs that get in them and I think they only do it every few days or so, so I only swim on the day after they cleaned it. My husband and a few neighbors have thrown impromptu gatherings there and that was real fun mingling with neighbors in the complex. The upside is you can use the pool anytime as long as you have a key to get in. The fitness center is ok. It's a little small, but there's no one there majority of the time. Weekday morning the cleaning crew comes by and cleans up the area in the complex, so the place looks decent throughout the year. The only critique I have is the maintenance can sometimes seem real annoyed when you call them. I've had a few issues with my toilet, dryer, air vent, garbage disposal, and heater while I was here the past 2 years, and while they came out and fixed it on the same day (and I never had a problem afterwards) they never seemed to happy to come to my place. But whenever I see them around the area they always seemed annoyed, so maybe its just their personality. Anyways, I recommend this place because it's very reasonably priced (we got a great deal when we moved in), quiet, decent apartments (although I recommend a top floor if your paranoid of summer bugs like me), and friendly staff (if you treat them nice as well). My husband and I are only moving because of the commute to work (I work in downtown and he works in buckhead). We found an apartment in downtown, but I must say I miss the spacious apartments in Ponds (we had to downgrade to a 1 bedroom b/c of price) and the washer/dryer. I just hated the traffic that took my 1 1/2 hrs to get to work and home everyday. I would recommend this place if that doesnt bother you, or if you work up north.
