I am/was a potential tenant to this apartment complex but my story is about me applying for a unit. Get this:

I went to their website on Friday and I clicked the "Pre Qualify" tab which took me to a page that asked for my Credit Card number, SSN, my driver's license number and my income. When I clicked "Process my Application" it then took me to a page that said they were adjusting their apartment prices and to call back at a later time.

Now being that I never got a confirmation number I assumed that the 50.00 charge did not process. After trying to call them all morning on Saturday 8/15, I drove from Riverdale all the way to Alpharetta to talk to Mercedes. She saw my info on her computer but she told me that the application fee was not processed based on what her computer showed. So she showed me an apartment and gave me an application and told me that to pay the 50.00 app fee to run my credit, etc.
I told her that I would wait until next week Friday 8/21 to come back to finish the process.

Now...today 8/18. I check my bank statement and low and behold my account was charged 50.00 for the appilcation fee, but I wasnt told whether I was approved, nor did I get a confirmation that I was denied. So I spent my entire lunch our speaking to Mercedes, Mark, AND Ms Elisabeth and my question to all of them that none of them knew the answer to was: "What did I get charged 50.00 for"'

After looking on their system that Mark and Mercedes admitted that they barely knew, come to find out that the 50.00 went towards HOLDING an apartment and not the application fee. I was told by Mark that if I applied online, then it would take 100.00 to hold the unit for 48 hours, at which point if I was declined or decided not to get the apt, they would refund the holding fee. When I talked to Elisabeth, she told me that I had to still fill out an application to "finish the process", and I asked her, "then what did I pay for if the 50.00 did not go towards the application fee"' She said that they still had to do a criminal background. Again I asked her, "Then what did I pay 50.00 for"' Mark had to call both their IT department and Corporate to find out "what went wrong" because he told me that the money didnt go towards the application thus why my credit was never ran. I told Mark that being that my 50.00 did not go towards my application I would like my money refunded. He told me that he will get back with me later on today.

This is why I do not rent out to apartment complexes, because they give you 100 excuses as to what went wrong, but they still want you to live there and no one seems to know what the other is doing...especially when it comes to their computers. I can truly believe now that someone who lived there got an eviction notice by mistake.

I will pray that my money is returned to me but if not I will go to the BBB and get the matter resolved that way. If I dont get my money back at all, then God will give it back to me 7 fold. But for the record... I will NEVER live here.
